Ceiling Lights

When selecting bathroom ceiling lights there are several questions you need to ask yourself. What zone does my ceiling light/s fall into and what IP rating do I require so it can be installed in-line with current regulations? For example if you light/s are installed above a shower it would fall into category zone 1 and you would require an IP65 rated product. Please click here to view the ip ratings chart, which should easily allow you to see which zone your fitting/s would fall into and how to work out what you require. How much light do I need to suitably light up my room, allowing me to partake in everyday activities? It is essential you have good light level! Will my light come on instantly? You might think this is a random question, but if you happen to popping into your bathroom to go the toilet you don’t want a light which is going to take 5 minutes to warm up, as you will be leaving the room before the lamp/s reach their maximum light level. Do I want a flush fitting, chandelier or recessed lights in my bathroom? If you wish to have a Flush bathroom light, there is a large selection varying from very simple bulkheads to more decorative flush fittings. Alternatively chandelier bathroom lights are also available for people craving that special appearance. If you would like recessed lights, you need to consider how far apart these need to be installed and what form of lighting you would like. For example people have traditionally used low voltage lighting in bathrooms over the years as it was classed a safer method of installation, however you would have to have transformers installed also. With the large selection of Led lamps available and the ability to install them without transformers with very low running costs, instant light levels and long life levels, many customers would instantly select mains downlights and install led lamps over low voltage downlights. If you are after downlights please view our downlights category. After considering the above queries you should have a reasonable idea of what you can select from. We have a large selection available in our Midlands showroom and even more on-line. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact our sales team. We can’t stress enough how important it is that you select the right IP rating as essentially if you select the incorrect one, you are risking yours and visitors safety and breaking regulations, also you may be liable to pay additional costs if an electrician comes and is unable to fit the product.
