Many reading lamps come with adjustable heads, allowing you to manoeuvre the light towards the direction require. When selecting a reading lamp It may be worth considering an led option, this is due to low running costs, instant light, but they are also cool running which is worth considering if your move the head frequently or are situated close by. Many floor lamps can have led lamps installed, so if you see a base and it doesn’t come with an led option don’t worry because there is a good chance you can get around it.

Reading lamps are often very simple; however there is still a reasonable selection to choose from, not to mention the wealth of finishes available. Many reading lamps come with dimmer switches so you can adjust the light level to suit yourself, others will just come with an in-line switch, this option makes it easier to turn on and off without having to reach for the socket.
